# Failed to mkdir "/etc/crictl.yaml": mkdir /etc/crictl.yaml: read-only file system

I’m trying to install Portworx Essentials on Talos Linux which mounts the /etc folder as read-only. Is there a way to specify a different path for things that are getting written there?

This particular error is happening when the StorageCluster is trying to initialize. The storage cluster pods have `failed to generate container "532e5........" spec: failed to generate spec: failed to mkdir "/etc/crictl.yaml": mkdir /etc/crictl.yaml: read-only file system`
