Portworx Data Service 24.12.01 is now GA

Portworx Data Services (PDS) is available as a managed SaaS service - making deploying, scaling, protecting and self-service of data services on Kubernetes easier. With a catalog of dozen different data-services to meet every application need from Kafka to CouchDB, Microsoft SQL Server to Redis, RabbitMQ to Neo4j.

Here is a summary of the new features and functionality now available in PDS SaaS release 24.12.01 - which is now live on cloud.portworx.io :

  • Organization management - Have clusters & data-service deployments resources as well as access to them isolated. Customers can use organization for different customers, BUs, regions, etc. PDS now allows customers to create and manage organizations and have users seamlessly switch between them.

  • Simplified data service endpoints - Instead of connecting to various nodes and figuring out which is primary or secondary. Directly use -rw endpoint for access even during node failover. And use -ro endpoint, for read-only on secondary even if it changes. The new endpoints have been introduced for PostgreSQL and Microsoft SQL Server data services

  • Adapt PDS onboarding and deployments - You can now leverage APIs and overlay configurations to define tolerations, manage resource allocation, and customize pod scheduling for specific workloads.

Apart from the above, Portworx Data Services (PDS) have also incorporated bug fixes and improvements like better visibility of cluster health while deploying or using data-service deployments.
