Portworx CSI 26.1 is now GA

We are announcing the general availability of Portworx CSI 26.1.0 – a new version of the CSI driver that includes several new features and capabilities designed to integrate further with FlashArray (FA)/FlashBlade (FB) features, provide better volume placement control and extend resiliency, manageability of Portworx CSI (PX-CSI).

New Features:

  • FlashArray ActiveCluster - Allows Kubernetes workloads to use synchronous, active‑active replication of FADA volumes across two FAs, with CSI‑level lifecycle management.
  • Importing Existing Volumes - Import existing FA/FB volumes and file directories as PVCs, including those created by Fusion.
  • Volume Placement Control - Allows customers to choose which FA a PVC lands on, by targeting a specific FlashArray pod from Kubernetes.
  • Subnet aware iSCSI login - Ensures each iSCSI initiator interface only logs in to FA targets within the same subnet, preventing cross-subnet connection attempts.
  • FlashBlade//EXA Support - Support for FB //EXA filesystems with PX-CSI.
  • CLI Support - Provides secure, remote access to Portworx services. Customers can manage PX-CSI operations and get administrative control over CSI-specific features.

Usage Instructions:

  • PX-CSI 26.1.0 release can be accessed through the PX Central. Generate PX-CSI Spec using Generate PX-CSI Spec page on PX Central.

  • Installation: Installation instructions for PX CSI can be found under the Install Portworx CSI section of our online documentation for Portworx CSI.

  • Upgrade: Customers can seamlessly upgrade their Kubernetes clusters running PX Essentials or older versions of PX-CSI 25.x to PX-CSI 26.1.0 by following these Upgrade PX-CSI instructions.
