Announcing the General Availability of Portworx CSI 26.2.0

Announcing the general availability of Portworx CSI 26.2.0 – a new version of the CSI driver that includes several new features and capabilities designed to enhance multi-tenancy, improve performance and resiliency, strengthen snapshot safety, and expand deployment flexibility for Portworx CSI (PX-CSI).

Key Highlights:

FlashBlade Realm & Multi Server Support - Enhanced security through secure multi-tenancy with Realms, multiple servers for data and network isolation, and stronger tenant isolation and scale on a shared FlashBlade array.

NVMe Native Multipath Support - Delivers lower latency, faster failover, higher throughput, and automatic support for both native NVMe multipath and existing DM-multipath behavior across NVMe-oF environments.

Increased Scale Limits to 1K Volumes per Node - Increases supported scale to 1024 volume attachments per node, improves workload density and consolidation, and helps support large-scale KubeVirt and VMware-to-OpenShift migration use cases.

NFS over TLS Support for FA and FB Files - Enables encrypted in-transit NFS access for file workloads with PX-CSI, improving security posture for both FlashArray and FlashBlade file services.

Wind River Platform Support - Extends PX-CSI platform support to Wind River environments, broadening deployment flexibility for telco and edge use cases.

Block PV Deletion When Snapshots Exist - Improves CSI spec compliance, prevents orphaned VolumeSnapshot resources, protects data integrity and restoreability, and returns a clear FAILED_PRECONDITION error when deletion must be blocked.

Single Node and Two-Node Arbiter Deployments - Removes the three-node dependency for supported OpenShift deployment models and aligns PX-CSI more closely with Red Hat-supported edge and compact-cluster scenarios.

Monitor Host Connection Health - Improves monitoring of iSCSI, NVMe, and FC connection health, including multipath status, and exposes Prometheus-visible signals to help identify degraded storage paths earlier.

Volume group snapshots - Enables coordinated point-in-time protection for multi-volume applications and provides a foundation for more app-consistent backup and recovery workflows.
