We are excited to announce the general availability of Portworx CSI 25.8.0 – a ground-up re-architected CSI driver which includes several new features and capabilities designed to enhance scale, performance, and manageability of Portworx CSI (PX-CSI).
New Features
- CSI without KVDB: Enables customers to install and operate PX CSI leveraging Custom Resources and thereby eliminating the need for a dedicated device for KVDB.
- 512 volume attachments per node: 2x increase in volume attachments/node system limit enables customers to achieve higher consolidation when deploying containerized or virtualized workloads on more capable HW.
- Faster volume attachments: Faster volume attachments significantly reduces the time to bring up workloads upon reboot (planned maintenance) or recovery (unplanned failures).
- Policy based snapshots with FB: Enables customers to take advantage of Flashblade’s policy-based snapshots for workloads in their Kubernetes environments.
- CBS on AWS EKS: Enables customers to run their applications backed by CBS in their AWS EKS environments.
Usage Instructions
- PX CSI 25.8.0 release can be accessed through the PX Central
- Installation: Installation instructions for PX CSI can be found under the Install Portworx CSI section of our online documentation for Portworx CSI.
- Upgrade: Customers can seamless upgrades their Kubernetes clusters running PX Essentials or older version of PX CSI 25.x to PX CSI 25.8.0 by following these Upgrade PX-CSI instructions.
