Hello Everyone,
We are excited to announce that Portworx Backup 2.10.0 is now Generally Available! This release focuses on greater operational efficiency and enterprise-grade security for Kubernetes data protection.
Key features
- Generic incremental optimization with periodic “backup resets” (e.g., every 10 days) to create fresh fulls, shorten chains, accelerate restores, and enable safe deletion of older increments to control footprint.
- Namespace-level continuity: scheduled/ad-hoc backups continue even if a namespace fails; failed namespaces are flagged in the UI for one-click troubleshooting or exclusion.
- SUSE Rancher project integration: automatically syncs Portworx Backup access with Rancher permissions for consistent, low-toil RBAC.
- End-to-end mTLS: encrypts internal service communications (UI through backend services) to secure data in transit across the platform.
These are just the highlights; there are additional enhancements and fixes in this release as documented in the What’s New doc link below.
