Portworx Enterprise 3.5.0 release is now Generally Available!

Hello Everyone,

We are excited to announce that Portworx Enterprise 3.5.0 is now Generally Available! Portworx Enterprise 3.5.0 introduces several new features and enhancements that advances Portworx’s leadership in Modern Virtualization.

Key features

  • PX-StoreV2 is now the default filesystem for Portworx Enterprise greenfield deployments. Customers with existing PX-StoreV1 based clusters now have the option to convert these clusters in place into PX-StoreV2 based clusters, if they chose to do so.

  • Hyperscale volume attachments: We have increased the volume attachments system limits by 2x and now can support up to 1024 volumes per node. This enables customers to achieve higher consolidation and improve operational efficiency.

  • Non-blocking background deletes: Prevents latency spikes if and when large volumes or snapshots are deleted.

  • Introducing support for large cloudsnap objects (100MB) optimized for backup and restore (to and from, respectively) when backed by slower object stores.

  • Up to 2x higher performance for random read or random write I/O for fast-path volumes by increasing the number of threads used by PX-Fuse.

  • Support for Live Migrations (RWX raw block volumes) with SuSE Rancher Harvester

  • Autoscale Storage Nodes upon cluster expansion

  • Auto-rebalance kvdb nodes across failure domains eliminating operational overhead of manual rebalancing while ensuring quorum.

  • CDI cloning framework to optimize replica placement upon cloning VM(s)

  • OpenShift Hosted control plane for nested OpenShift Virtualization [EA]

  • License support for PX-KV SKU

  • PXE image size is significantly smaller compared to earlier, advantages for deployments in remote/edge locations.

  • PX Enterprise now supports Two-node (with witness/arbiter) deployments in Edge/remote locations.
